February Half Term breaks in Cornwall – family friendly things to do (2023)

Bored kids are never a fun thing to have. Cold and bored kids should be avoided at all times! So if you’re visiting Cornwall in February and specifically at half term, It’s always a good idea to have some ideas of places to visit up your sleeve. Especially warm ones. And especially ones that have a cafe and food options!

While in Cornwall you of course always have the seaside, but in February it can be sometimes be a shorter day out than in summer. You also have walks in the forest or coastal paths to explore as well – don’t discount them but sometimes you want to have a little bit of a different day. And you’ll definitely want ideas in case the weather is particularly bad.

I know when I used to come to Cornwall with my kids, often out of season and in the cold, we always sought out indoor places that were interesting to their age range. I always had plans to just enjoy the outdoors, but sometimes life changes and you want something indoors!

Read on to discover some of the things that are open and waiting to welcome you in February half term in Cornwall this year.

Kid friendly attractions open in Cornwall – open in February

If you’re planning to visit Cornwall in the February Half Term holidays you’re likely looking for family friendly things to do. I’ve created this list of kid friendly attractions that are open in February and a list of special events taking place as well.

Since it’s February it’s important to note that not everything in Cornwall will be open. Some attractions, like Flambards Theme Park, and some museums, will only be open from Easter onwards. A lot of places open for the full week of half term, especially if they are family activities, but it’s always best to check before heading out!

The following are all open in February for the half term week in 2023 but don’t specifically have any special events on. Also see the places with special events listed below – I haven’t duplicated the results so do check them out as well.

Bodmin & Wenford Railway – Classic steam train rides in the Bodmin area. Dog friendly also! Kids go free at half term (see site for details)

English Heritage CastlesTintagel in the North and Pendennis near Falmouth. Both are open through the half term week and have lots of things to learn about and do.
