Pumpkin picking in Cornwall – 7 patches where you can pick your own!
When the weather starts to turn and Halloween begins to creep up on us one activity that is growing in popularity each year is pumpkin picking. Cornwall has a number of options available to you whether you just want to pick your own at a pumpkin patch or combine it with a day out to one of Cornwall’s family attractions. It’s a great autumn activity in the county!
Half Term also happens in late October and it’s the perfect time to take the kids out to get a pumpkin, bring it home and carve some spooky shapes in it. Whether you’re visiting with kids to Cornwall in October or you’re a local looking for a fun day out, these options will be great for all ages.
Where to go Pumpkin picking in Cornwall
Here’s a list of some places that you can go pumpkin picking in Cornwall. (I recommend checking their social media pages where possible as that tends to be where updates on opening times seems to be best.)
Trevaskis Farm, Nr Hayle
Pumpkin fields open 7th October
Trevaskis Farm is at Connor Downs, near Hayle and has a lot to offer for a day out with a farm park to look around, farm shop and restaurant. They do pick your own all year round and that includes pumpkins!
Open every day from 10am – 5pm and you don’t need to book in advance. Just turn up and find yourself the perfect pumpkin!

Cornish Maize Maze and Fun Farm, Saltash
Saturday 15th, Sunday 16th and Saturday 22nd – Sunday 30th October 2022
Just over the water from Plymouth, in Saltash is the Cornish Maize Maze. They have farm animals to see, a play park, their maze and also for autumn, a pumpkin patch!
Open from 10am – 5pm on the above dates. It costs £5 per person, free for under 2s. There’s also the cost for the pumpkins you pick too.

Lobbs Farm Shop, Nr Heligan
Sat 22nd, Sun 23rd, Tue 25th, Wed 26th, Fri 28th & Sat 29th October 2022
This farm shop runs a Halloween and Pumpkin themed event for kids where you can go on tractor rides to the field, pick pumpkins and even pick up a free slice of traybake from the farm shop afterwards.
It costs £8 per pumpkin picking child and accompanying adults are free.

Dairyland Farm Park, Nr Newquay
22nd -30th October
This kids attraction near Newquay is running a weeklong event called Scaryland which combines Halloween crafts and activities with also the opportunity to pick your own pumpkin. You also have the farm to enjoy as well.
Entrance is £13 for children over 80cm. Under 80cm is £4. This includes all the crafts and a pumpkin. Adult tickets are also £13.

Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm, Nr Perranporth
22nd – 30th October
Visitors to the cider farm can add on their Halloween activities where they have a spooky tractor ride, pumpkin picking and also a carving workshop.
You do need to also have paid for tickets to they farm (although they will last a year) and then the event is a further £8 per child on top of that.

Trevathan Farm, Nr Port Isaac

This pick your own farm near Port Isaac also has pumpkins in the autumn. I’m awaiting more information on when they are open for 2022 and will update when ready.

Strawberry Fields, Lifton
Saturday 8th, Sunday 9th, Saturday 15th, Sunday 16th and Saturday 22nd – Sunday 30th October 2022
Ok, this one is just over the border into Devon but might be helpful for anyone in east Cornwall. Strawberry Fields is a large farm shop with restaurant attached. Their Pumpkin Fest event allows you to go searching for the perfect pumpkin, enjoy magic shows and have lots of photo opportunities.
Tickets are £2.50 per person (pumpkin not included) and under 1s go free.
