The best Harlyn Bay holiday cottages, airbnbs and holiday parks

Harlyn Bay on the coast near Padstow is a stunning stretch of coastline that is one of my absolute favourites. It’s full of sheltered coves, wonderful white sand and gorgeous blue sea. It’s a perfect spot for a Cornwall holiday.

I’m very fond of this stretch of Cornwall’s north coast as we found it quite by accident one day and didn’t realise quite how gorgeous it was. We’ve visited all year round and was quite surprised that even in high season you can find some secluded spots.

This accommodation in Harlyn Bay guide should help you get started on your holiday cottage search, I know how hard deciding on the area can be! These cottages often have sea views and are walking distance to the beach so for people who value that you’ll definitely find something to suit.

Why you should choose Harlyn Bay

Harlyn Bay is a beautiful place to base yourself for a Cornish holiday where you’ll find peace with the countryside, a number of beaches on your doorstep and the coastal path taking you to some peaceful spots even in the height of summer.

The wide beach is perfect for kids playing and it has lifeguard cover in the summer months too (check here for dates). You can try your hand at surfing, kayaking and paddle boarding too with a surf school ready and waiting to take you out on the water.

You’re very much in the countryside at Harlyn Bay, there’s not too much in the village itself, but you’ll find the town of Padstow not too far away for boat trips, restaurants and tourist attractions. Newquay and Wadebridge are also not too far away as well.

The Pig is a restaurant and pub within walking distance and you’re also not far from St Merryn with it’s small shops, takeaways and petrol station. Tesco is in Padstow for a bigger shop.

A note about the area around Harlyn Bay – some roads to the beaches and villages are very narrow. Please bring your patience while driving round here!
